There are direct flight from Far East Countries like Singapore and Malaysia, which acts as a transit point from Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
Apart from Air, Kerala is well connected by Rail, Road and Sea. The Rail Network is very prominent here and is well connected from the nearby states and other metropolitan cities of India like, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi. Only the hill districts of Wayanad and Idukki are not connected by rail for which the nearest station for Wayanad is Kozhikode in North Kerala and Cochin for Munnar and Kottayam for Thekkady (Periyar).
Several National highways run through the state which connects between the cities and towns of Kerala as well to neighboring states. In Kerala, connecting multiple destinations is mostly through road, special y in the hill districts where other means of transport are not available.
Cochin is the primary port in Kerala, followed by Vizinjam in South Kerala close to Thiruvananthapuram and Beypore in North Kerala close to Kozhikode. Many Luxury cruise liners call at Cochin port between the months of October till May. Thousands of cruise line passengers visit Cochin and the nearby backwater town of Alleppey during the berthing of the ships. Other village visits and activity based programs are organized for guests who come in cruise liners to Cochin.
